Make your own Holiday Hot Chocolate Stirrers

Make your own Holiday Hot Chocolate Stirrers

It's that time again! Time to make holiday goodies for all my friends and family! Last year, my friend Harmony gave me a hot chocolate spoon, which is basically chocolate on a spoon and when you stir it with a cup of milk you have hot chocolate! So this year I made my own super easy version using my favorite flavor (chocolate-salted caramel) and classic toppings like marshmallow and peppermint.

And now let's talk about my chocolate fail! I actually didn't know chocolate could burn so easily and I totally messed up my first batch - the chocolate didn't even look like chocolate anymore! So I have to share my new secret weapon with all of you! I found the easiest way to NOT burn chocolate is to melt the chocolate in the microwave using Wilton's candy melting bowls. I can't stress what a time saver these bowls are, and how easy the clean up is afterwards. All I did was soak them in warm water and the hardened chocolate came right off. These hot chocolate sticks can easily be individually wrapped, and make a great homemade gift for the chilly nights ahead!

What you will need:

Step 1: Carefully read the instructions on the packaging on how best to melt the chocolate. Defrost mode on your microwave is your new best friend! Select defrost mode and melted the chocolate in 15 second increments making sure to stir after each 15 seconds, and until it's easy to pour.

Step 2: Add 4 to 5 mini marshmallows to each paper cup, then pour the melted chocolate over the top.

Step 3: Sprinkle crushed peppermint candy cane topping on top, and add a stirrer stick to the center of each chocolate-filled cup.

Step 4: Let stand until chocolate hardens (about 30 minutes).

Step 5: Tear the paper cups and remove them - it's so easy!

Step 6: Embellish with 3D holiday stickers, stamps, or washi tape!

Finally, enjoy your Hot Chocolate Stirrers with warm milk of choice. Watch the chocolate melt and marshmallows float to the top!

Made with love, Enid
