DIY Hand Painted Mud Cloth Inspired Easter Eggs

Happy week before Easter!

I fell a little behind on posting my Easter egg decor this year because I've found it difficult to tear myself away from binge watching HGTV's Fixer Upper! I've been a hard core Property Brother's fan for a long time so it took me a little while to get around to watching Fixer Upper, but man am I hooked!  But I digress, aren't these Mud Cloth inspired Easter eggs rockin?!

From throw pillows to accent chairs and everything in between, African Mud Cloth is trending hard! Mud Cloth originated in Mali, where it's family tradition to pass down mud cloth blankets, and each design has a secret meaning depending on how it's arranged. I love this type of family sentiment, and because Easter always reminds me of family, I decided to hand paint these Easter eggs in my own mud cloth inspired designs.

I used wood eggs this year, and I don't think I'll ever go back to painting real eggs. Drying time was so fast it only took 5 minutes to paint each egg!

Wood = definitely the way to go!

What you will need:

DIY Wood Painted Eggs

Hand paint each egg with black paint. The bottom of these eggs are flat so they will sit up while drying, making it a lot less of a messy project!

Use a pointed brush, to hand paint your own mud cloth inspired designs using pastel paints. Zigzags, dots, and dashes are all fair game!
